Drogo's Ferrari P 2/3.
Not everyone is convinced that the chopped-off tail
is the ultimate in aerodynamics for sports cars,
especially at Le Mans where maximum speed is all-important and
manoeuverability is of lesser concern.
This Drogo modified Ferrari 365 P 2 began 1965 as a factory 330 P 2
and entered 1966 by North American Racing Team
(NART) for Bob Bondurant and Masten Gregory, sported a tail 2 ft longer than normal,
with vertical stabilizing fins.
Visible in the rear view are the holes in the fins for alternate positioning of a
Chaparral-style variable spoiler.
(pictures 1, 2 and 3).

This number 18 was driven at Le Mans
in 1966 by Gregory and Bondurani.

The pictures 4 to 6 show the same car, but four years later with
a sleek new body from Drogo's Carrozzeria Sports Cars.
The tail is shorter than before, the prominent vertical tailfins
have given way to a Group 7-style adjustable horizontal spoiler.
The nose is longer and more aggressive-looking,
while the windshield and roof are P3/P4 pattern,
so that only the engine air intakes and the lower portions of the
doors identify the car as a P 2.
